“It remains clear, that in his mind, the most important thing here is the national team and us, so we have to focus on the World Cup.

A video that went viral this week shows Fernandes giving Ronaldo a cold welcome as the two greet each other after reporting duties to Portugal following the interview.
However, Fernandes insists that the clip was misleading and the audio version shows the two joking.
“This is the national team, Manchester United will be my focus after the World Cup, after December 18, because it’s the final,” added Fernandes.
“I don’t have a problem with anyone. I do my job. You have to control yourself, do your best and that’s it.”
Speaking earlier this week, fellow United player Raphael Varane has admitted that the interview affected the team.
“Obviously it affects us,” Varane, who was selected for France’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar, told French radio station Europe1. “We follow what is happening and what is being said.
“We try to calm the situation in our own way, we try not to get too involved in it. What is happening in the media at the big clubs is being pushed.
“When it’s a star like Ronaldo, it’s even more so, so we try to bridge the gap, meaning we’re not trying to change the situation alone, we’re part of the collective. .”
In the second part of the interview that aired on Thursday, Ronaldo claims his relationship with Ten Hag has broken down after feeling “provocative” by his manager to walk away against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season.
