Via Allan Fox: Heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson (11-0, 11 KOs) made a statement last Saturday night with his second knockout win over Oleksandr Teslenko (17-2, 13 KOs) at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Anderson worked with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in the bout, and he predicted that he would soon win a title. We’ll see if Fury’s prediction comes true.
In the main assist round, 22-year-old Anderson knocked out Teslenko (17-2, 13 KOs) in the second round with a jab followed by a powerful right and left hook.
Teslenko couldn’t get up to continue the round and the match was then stopped by referee Danny Schiavone at 1:32 of the second half.
The strength and combined fighting ability that Anderson 6’4 ″ possesses sets him apart from other heavyweights in the tournament.
Anderson prides himself on his defense and isn’t entirely thrilled that Teslenko was able to hit him with a number of shots.

“I am extremely confident. I always had faith built in me, and it was just a natural thing,” Jared Anderson told Fighthype. “I am confident and I know I’m the next heavyweight.
“If you don’t believe it, keep watching and I’ll prove it to you,” Anderson said. “I was hit in the right hand. That’s my last lesson, and that’s what we’re trying to avoid.
“The first round I was a bit wild and also a bit excited. It took me a second to settle down, but as you can see, we’re done.
“My face is fine, my hands are fine and my legs are fine. So get back to it ASAP,” Jared said.
“I believe I did [get hit too much], so I had a lot of work to do and review the game but I played pretty well. I win
“It was another victory and another vote count was successful, so we will move on. As soon as the boxing commission let me. It was an eighth round match, so I knew I wasn’t in the standings yet,” Anderson said.
It’s hard to tell at the moment if Jared is the next strong contender as he needs to fight someone soon to be able to prove it.
Anderson wants to be in the rankings
“As soon as we can get those matches when people take them in ten innings and get in that ranking.
Anderson said of Tyson Fury: “He’s gone a lot further in his career right now. “I’m not even in the rankings yet. You all push me when you ask me, but business is business. If they put the right paperwork in front of me, we could fight,” Jared said.
With Anderson in the rankings, it will be interesting to see him battle the top 15 contenders.
