The Australian men’s cricket team entered the new cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) in fine form following their impressive nine-goal win over England at Gabba in Brisbane. Australia is currently only behind the top team Sri Lanka. Australia is ahead of Pakistan and India, who currently hold third and fourth place, respectively. On the other hand, England was fined 100% of the competition fee and also fined 5 points at the ICC World Test Championship. England maintained a slow overshoot in the First Ash Test and paid the price in the WTC Scorecard.
Recently, Pakistan consolidated their second position in the standings after knocking out Bangladesh with a score of 2-0 at their home ground. But with Australia’s resounding victory, Pakistan lost a place on the rankings.

On Day 4, the Australian bowlers made sure the match didn’t go on the final day as they chased their goal of running 20 lines with nine sticks in hand. Alex Carey was the only man in Australia’s big win.
Starting the day, England lost up to 8 matches without much fighting to give the advantage back to the home team. The British heroes of Day 3, Dawid Malan and Joe Root, were unable to hold the fort and set off on the first session.
