India vs West Indies: Washington Sundar scraps upcoming T20I Series, Kuldeep Yadav confirmed as replacement

Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the upcoming India vs West Indies T20I series due to a strain on his left hamstring. The all-rounder was injured during the third ODI vs West Indies match in Ahmedabad. In addition, the All India Selection Committee appointed Kuldeep Yadav as his replacement. T20I’s upcoming drama is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and kick off on Wednesday.
The BCCI said in a statement: “He has been dropped from the upcoming three-match Series T20I which will be played in Kolkata from 16 February. The All India Senior Selection Committee has appointed Kuldeep Yadav as his replacement. Washington,” BCCI said in a statement.
Sundar marked the return to cricket at the Vijay Hazare Trophy after a long break with a hand injury during a tour of England.
In addition, he missed the ODI vs South Africa series due to a positive test result for Covid-19.
Earlier, India hosted the West Indies in a three-match ODI series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The home team swept clean, winning with a score of 3-0. It was also Rohit’s debut as a full-time white ball captain.
He took over last December. In the first ODI, the home team won with six points. Pursuing a goal of 177 runs, India scored 178 for four of the 28 passes.

In the second ODI, India won 44 runs after successfully defending its goal of 238 runs. The guests were bowled 193 in 46 rounds.
Meanwhile, in the ODI final, India won 96 runs after setting a target of 266. West Indies were eliminated with 169 in 37.1 rounds.
