Indian Oil Queries Fuel Shortage Rumors, Says Supply “Completely Normal”
Amid rumors of petrol and diesel shortages in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and even Ahmedabad in Gujarat, leading to long queues at petrol pumping stations in different cities in these states, the Oil Corporation India had to give an explanation on Tuesday evening that fuel availability at all stores was completely normal and there was no need to panic.
According to reports, rumors of fuel shortages that surfaced over the weekend soon led to long queues at fuel stations, forcing many dealerships to even close due to out-of-control traffic. .
The situation was not so good in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, while in the capital cities of Jaipur and Dehradun, local petrol pump associations had to issue notices explaining that there was no shortage of petrol and diesel.
The Dehradun government has even started an investigation into the matter and has warned of severe action against those who spread rumors.
Panic forced Indian Oil to provide an explanation, with retailer V’s (Marketing) Director Satish Kumar tweeting that fuel supplies were “completely normal”.
