Instagram Badge launches to help creators monetize followers
Instagram Badges is now officially launched. This feature allows creators to monetize their followers. The badge allows users to show support for a creator in a Live video on the platform. Starting Wednesday, users 18 years of age and older with more than 10,000 followers in select regions will be able to use the Instagram Badge. Once purchased, Badges will appear with comments during the Live performance. The latest feature will allow creators to interact with supporters, and Live video organizers will be able to view a list of supporters and Badges purchased during Live Stream for up to 90 days.
Instagram on November 16 announced badge deployment. When a creator’s followers purchase Badge, the heart(s) will be displayed next to the backer’s username. In the US, you can buy multiple Instagram Badges in a single Live video for $0.99 (approximately Rs 73), $1.99 (approx Rs. 147) and $4.99 (approx Rs. 370.) . It will show up as one, two or three hearts, respectively, next to the commenter’s name. Based on Badges, supporters will see more visibility on a Live video. Instagram introduced Badges back in 2020, but it was only available to some creators.
Once the Badge is purchased, the supporter’s name will appear on the list visible to the creator of that Live video for up to 90 days. Additionally, if a follower asks a question during that Live, that question will be marked up for the creator. Additionally, comments made in Live Chat can be pinned by the creator.
Content creators can go to Profile > Professional Dashboard > Grow Your Business > Badges to introduce. Once done, turn on Armorial icon to the left of Go to the live screen to start a Live video.
Instagram Badges are restricted to users 18 years of age and older. Also, a professional account (creator or business) is required to use it. Various Instagram policies including Partner Monetization Policy, Community Guidelines also apply to the latest feature. Currently, eligible creators in Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, UK and US will have Badge in Live, depending on features its official announcement page.
