Interior Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV revealed

Mercedes-Benz has maintained a visual resemblance between its EQ electric models, and nowhere is this more evident than in their interiors.

The German brand has revealed the cabin of EQE SUV before the car’s global launch on October 16 and it’s almost identical to EQE sedans, EQS lift back and EQS SUV.

This includes the optional MBUX Hyperscreen, which is a curved glass screen that stretches from the A-pillar to the A-pillar.

Mercedes-Benz says there are “five coordinated color combinations” for the interior of the EQE SUV, with a range of warm and cool tones.

There are also wood and aluminum details, as well as laser-cut three-pointed star trim on the backlit center console.

The EQE SUV is set to be the fourth model built on Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA), following the EQS, EQE and EQS SUV.

In simpler terms, think of the EQE SUV as an all-electric replacement for the internal combustion engine GLE.

It is expected that the EQE SUV will mirror the steering and battery specifications of the existing EQE sedan.

Currently, the mid-size electric sedan is available in the EQE 350 guise with a 215kW electric motor driving the rear wheels.

The next step is AMG EQE 43 4Matic, has two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and total system output is 250kW and 858Nm.

The AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ flagship sedan is also equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system but produces a total system power of 505kW and 1000Nm of torque with the selected AMG Dynamic Plus package.

All current EQE sedans come with a 90.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack that, according to WLTP testing, has a driving range of 518 km to 660 km depending on the variant.

The size of the EQE SUV is unknown at this stage, but it is expected to be around 5 meters long, as the EQE sedan is 4946mm long and the larger EQS SUV is 5125mm long.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV will be built alongside the EQS SUV at the German automaker’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant along with GLS and GLE, and uses batteries manufactured in a “modern factory in Bibb County.”

This increase in battery production follows Mercedes-Benz’s announcement that it will fully electric by 2030, wherever market conditions permit.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV could become an important model for the German automaker when it comes to production The current EQC is supposed to end in 2023.

The EQC is the brand’s first electric vehicle in the EQ series and is derived from GLC.

It’s not yet clear if a second-generation EQC will be available, which means the EQE SUV will likely have to wait before the second-generation model launches.

From 2025, Mercedes-Benz will launch three all-electric architectures. The main platform will be MB.EA, which will underpin all medium to large vehicles.

This will be complemented by AMG.EA for performance vehicles, and VAN.EA will form the basis for trucks and light commercial vehicles.
