Intruder tried to pull child through Abbotsford window in possible abduction attempt: Police – BC
Abbotsford Police issued a warning of a possible child abduction on Monday night.
Police said the incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. at a home in the 2700 block of Maple St.
“Initial information received was that an unidentified man broke into a residence and attempted to pull a child out of a ground-floor bedroom window,” said Const. Jody Thomas said in a media release.
“The child came out free and did not suffer any injuries.”
Police, K9 units and forensic investigators have been deployed to the scene, but no suspects have been identified.
While the investigation is in its early stages, police said they are releasing preliminary information as a precautionary measure, reminding Abbotsford residents to lock their doors and windows and report any activity. What a surprising move.
Witnesses or anyone with video footage in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225.
