IPL 2022: Sanju Samson rues batting failure in defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders | Cricket News
Samson said with his batters failing to master KKR bowling on the slow track at Wankhede Stadium, they missed 15-20 runs.
“I think the game was a bit slow and they threw the ball really well, but with the way we hit the ball, I’d like to score a few more passes at the end of the game. I think we ran 15-20 short, ” Samson said in his post-match presentation on Monday.
Though his team lost, there were some positives for the Rajasthan Royals captain as Samson (54) scored in his second half-century at this IPL.
The RR captain said he got into trouble with a joke but recovered.
“I’ve had a couple of games the past few games but I’m recovering well and (my back) is fine,” he said.
Another interesting aspect of the match for Samson was the fight his team put on while defending a modest total.
“It was a great effort (on the court). With bowling and punching, we showed a real fight. The body language and energy was amazing. I think we could hit well. a little more,” he added.
Samson said he couldn’t accelerate in the death ring because he frequently lost quotes.
“Wickets at (regular) intervals, that’s what stopped me from picking up momentum. When I wanted to hit hard, they threw really well and we couldn’t make our shots,” Samson said. .
