iQoo Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 Kicks Off With ‘The Grind’ Mini Tournament

iQoo Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 has started with ‘The Grind’ tournament. The Grind is a mini tournament that will have 32 teams competing over two weeks in the in-game Qualifiers before the teams advance to the main event. The League phase, ‘Grind Week’, will begin December 2 and run until December 10. The final match will take place on December 11 and 12. Game developer Krafton says The Grind has teams that join by invitation. The main tournament of iQoo Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 will start on December 16.

According to the press release, The Grind will feature 32 teams divided into four groups, and they will battle for the crown. The tournament is held in a one-round round-robin format that allows each team to play against all the other teams in their group. Only 16 teams that qualified for the next round will play again in the 10-match series. The team at the top of the standings will be crowned Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 (BGIS 2021) Champion of The Grind. Krafton will run qualifying in the game alongside The Grind as part of iQoo Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021.

IQoo Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 is open to residents of India only. Krafton has announced an award of Rs. 1,00,00,000 for this inaugural series. The winner will be awarded Rs. 50,00,000, the runner-up will receive Rs. 25.00,000 and the runner-up will get Rs. 10,00,000. The developers say that the tournament received a total of 664,211 players registrations including 101,571 4-member teams. The tournament will be streamed live on Battlegrounds Mobile India official channel, iQoo Esports official Esports channel and YouTube channel.

Earlier this year, game developer Krafton announced that Battlegrounds Mobile India players in India will be able to qualify for the e-sports medal events during the 2022 Asian Games taking place from September 10 to September 25 in Hangzhou, China.
