Is It Onion Or Cake? Viral Video will make you dizzy
The internet is full of great food content. From quick and easy kitchen recipes to inspirational dishes created by chefs, we can’t help but watch these videos over and over again. Food bloggers and influencers have created a niche for themselves, and their followers are well-versed in the type of content they create. For example, pastry chef Amaury Guichon creates chocolate works from larger-than-life and surreal objects. Meanwhile, another food innovator, Natalie Sideserf, has her own home-made baking style. Recently, she created a unique video that at first glance looks like an onion. However, cut it out with a knife and it turned out to be something completely different – a delicious cake! The video was shared on Instagram by @sideserfcakes (or Side Serf Cake Studio) who has 702k followers on Instagram. She’s been creating surrealist cakes since the trend started in 2020 and regularly fascinates the internet with her surreal creations. This particular video of the onion cake on Instagram went viral quickly and received over 4 million views and 176 thousand likes.
In the short video that went viral, we see an entire onion placed in the center of a plate. Natalie took it and cut it into two pieces when we saw that the vegetable was actually a pie inside! The incredible creativity surprised everyone on Instagram. “This is one of my favorite cakes I’ve ever made… and it’s an onion lol,” she wrote in the caption. “Won’t lie. Top layer got me,” commented one user while another wrote, “I need a thesaurus because of the amazing and talented words. NEVER FITS FOR this is awesome!”
Some have also questioned whether the outer skins of the onion are real. She revealed in the comments, “It’s not a real onion peel, I made it with edible vanilla wafer paper. I have a tutorial on how to make it on YouTube.”
