It has been almost three years since COVID-19 first appeared.
The disease has killed 6.5 million people and infected more than 600 million others globally.
But the World Health Organization says things are starting to improve.
Last week’s death toll was the lowest since March 2020 when the pandemic was announced.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the end of the pandemic was ‘in sight’ but warned against complacency.
