Italian armored vehicle saves Ukrainian Soldiers’ lives
Italian-made MLS Shield protected vehicles saved at least eleven Ukrainian soldiers, according to former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.
The MLS Shield was hit by a mortar and the crew and soldiers were injured but no one was killed, demonstrating the highest level of protection the 4×4 armored vehicle offers.
“Venom” [proper name of armored vehicle] carried the entire crew, saved 11 soldiers. And now he, tattered by a landmine, with tattered seams and no bulletproof glass, is back in our office yard.” he said on Facebook.

The MLS Shield is a medium-duty protected vehicle designed and manufactured by the Italian company Tekne. This is a 4×4 light tactical armored vehicle based on the Ford chassis with the engine in the front, the crew in the middle and the troop compartment at the rear.
Vehicles can carry up to 10 soldiers including a driver, commander and gunner. The vehicle has a combat weight of 15,000 kg with a maximum payload of 3,500 kg.
The body of the MLS Shield provides FB7 protection according to EN1063 against small arms 5.56 × 45 armor-piercing rounds as well as 7.62 × 51 FMJ lead core threats.
Mid-July, former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko bought a lot MLS Shield armored vehicle for the Ukrainian army.
