Italy’ Versalis acquires Tecnofilm to boost elastomer compounding
Tecnofilm, a family-owned company based in the Le Marche region, produces functional polyolefins and resin-based thermoplastic compounds and elastomers, mainly for the footwear and technical goods industries. Established in 1972, Tecnofilm has expanded its product portfolio over the years to offer a wide range of compounds and functional polymers for various industrial applications and technical articles. Through continuous investment in equipment, research and development, Tecnofilm has patented a number of products and in 2015 the company was recognized as an “innovative SME” in the special section of Italian Business Register. In November 2016, Tecnofilm became a member of ELITE, an international platform created by Borsa Italiana to promote the development of excellent companies.
Adriano Alfani, CEO of Versalis (Eni) said: «The acquisition of Tecnofilm further strengthens Versalis' business specialization strategy. To achieve this goal, it offers an opportunity to expand and specialize our product portfolio by integrating downstream supply chain activities into elastomer-based composites, especially in industrial applications and the footwear sector. We are already a leader in this supply chain with Finproject, for which Tecnofilm will be a very useful addition.”
Versalis, part of Eni, has completed the acquisition of Tecnofilm SpA, a leading generalist for the footwear and technical goods sector. This acquisition strengthens Versalis' capabilities and expands its product portfolio, enhancing its elastomer-based composite manufacturing strategy and strengthening its position in the supply chain.
