Jada Pinkett Smith and Mom Adrienne Reflect on Missing “Nursing Touch”
Adrienne Banfield Norris is opening up about an element she doesn’t have in her relationship with her daughter Jada Pinkett Smith.
“One of the things that’s lacking in my relationship with my mom and with Jada is just touching,” she said in a sneak peek of this week’s episode. Red silver table shared exclusively with E! News. “It’s very rare that you see Jada and I even touch, hug.”
And if they do, Jada says, “it’s awkward.” As Adrienne (also known as Gammy) explains, this is not how they show love in the family.
“It was awkward because we didn’t hug each other as a family,” she continued. “We know we’re loved, but it’s not that kind of nurturing touch.”
Looking back when Jada and Will Smith‘s daughter Willow Smith Adrienne recalls how as a child the 21-year-old loved to cuddle. And while Willow and Adrienne say they cuddle a lot, Jada says this is a change from the way she was raised.
“But that’s different for her,” the actress said. “She never cuddled me.”
