Jessica Rivera joins SoundCloud as Global SVP & General Manager
Jessica Rivera joined SoundCloud as Global SVP & General Manager, while Maurice Slade was appointed Head of Marketing for the company.
The two hired employees will work on SoundCloud’s efforts to enhance the company’s Artist Partner offerings, which provide solutions designed to “help both emerging and established artists. navigate the industry at every stage of their journey,” the company said.
Both will report directly to the President of SoundCloud Eliah Setonwho has taken on a role in April 2021.
Rivera joins SoundCloud from co-founded music company Nas Mass protestwhere she has held the position of General Director for just over a year since joining the company in June 2021.
Before that, she was the Head of Artist Relations for YouTubeWest Coast Territory, where she manages streaming content and marketing campaigns, and secures exclusive partnerships.
Rivera also spent over a decade at Universal, where she oversaw the East Coast for Popular music Published and signed artist/songwriter Imagine Dragons, Take A DayTrip and Alex Da Kid.
She also signed with Rihanna during her time at EMI Publishing, before working at Def Jam and Bad Boy Records.
Slade, meanwhile, comes from Epic Profile as the SVP of Marketing, where he played a key role in the marketing and branding of artists such as Travis Scott and 21 Savage, SoundCloud said.
Prior to joining Epic, Slade was the Senior Director of Strategy and Marketing at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company.
