British billionaire by Jim Ratcliffe INEOS company has officially entered the bidding process to buy the Premier League football club Manchester Unitedaccording to The Times on Wednesday.
This happened after United’s owner, greenhouse familyannounced that it is exploring a new investment or potential sale of the Premier League team in November 2022.
“I can confirm that we are officially involved in this process,” the spokesperson said without giving further details.
Ratcliffe is a major shareholder in the chemical group INEOS which owns the French football team Nice, the Swiss club Lausanne-Sport, the cycling team Ineos Grenadiers and has a partnership with the Mercedes F1 team.
Ratcliffe had previously expressed an interest in buying the Red Devils in the summer.
In an email to CNN Sport in August, a spokesman for Ratcliffe confirmed his interest in the popular Premier League club, saying: “We have only confirmed an interest in the club. kit if it is for sale.”
According to Forbes, Manchester United is worth $4.6 billion.
Controlled by the Glazer family, which also owns the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, United are one of the biggest football clubs in the world, but they haven’t won the Premier League since 2013.
In May, Ratcliffe placed a last-minute bid to buy Chelsea FC before losing to Todd Boehly group.
