Kambosos says Tank, Haney, Ryan Garcia and Lomachenko will “get it” Boxing News 24
Via Sean Jones: George Kambosos Jr returned home to Australia on Wednesday and he let his fans know he is ready to defend his beautiful lightweight belt against Devin Haney, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, Ryan Garcia or Vasily Lomachenko next. follow.
The undefeated Kambosos claims he can “milk” his four lightweight titles if he wants to, but he enjoys fighting the best. You could argue that wise talent, Kambosos is too shaky to beat his title without being defeated by one of the fringe contenders.
It’s wiser for Kambosos to get the biggest money fight he can as this can be as good as it gets him.
If you book Kambosos with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, boxer Gervonta struggled to beat last Sunday; he will lose to him. Milking his titles would be too risky for Kambosos as he is not talented enough to hold on to those belts for any length of time against the top lightweights.
Arum says Kambosos has no top ability
Top Rated promoter Bob Arum raved about the fact that Kambosos is not a boxer of the caliber in his estimation.
“I don’t think he’s top caliber. He fought Teofimo Lopez who should have been in the hospital and not in the boxing ring,” Arum told Fighthype on Kambosos.
Among those names, WBC lightweight champion Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) is Kambosos’ favorite because he has a title he wants to win. Beating Haney would make Kambosos the undisputed legitimate lightweight champion.
Right now, you can dispute Kambosos as undisputed since he doesn’t own the regular WBC title. The belt that Kambosos has with the WBA is a Franchise strap.
If Kambosos does make a fight with Haney, he will do it more because it is a winnable battle for him among the ‘Four Emperors’ lined up to fight against him. Kambosos is an excellent fighter, but he can be injured by Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis. Those guys have destructive power.
As for Lomachenko, his boxing skills are light years better than Kambosos, and it would be ridiculous if he fought him. With that said, Kambosos can hit Haney because he can’t punch, and his chin is suspect.
Haney will lose his final fight to Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz Jr if he throws more punches. Jojo looked like he was carrying too much weight, and he only had the stamina to fight hard for a few rounds.
Will 80, o00 fans show up?
Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) will pick one of those boxers to defend his four 135 lb titles in Australia against what he says will 80,000 fans.
Finally we will see if Wild-eyed Kambosos is correct with his claim that 80,000 fans will attend his next match in Australia.
The look on Kambosos’ face as he talks about the 80,000 fans attending his next game, he looks disconnected from reality.
I don’t know where Kambosos got the number from, but it looks like he’s firmly planted his feet in the ground.
That number would make sense if Kambosos had a proven track record of attracting crowds the size of a stadium in Australia.
It will be fun to see if Kambosos correctly guessed that number.
Kambosos recently defeated IBF/WBA/WBC Franchise/WBO lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez on November 27 in New York.
He defeated the previously undefeated Top Rank that promoted Teofimo (16-1, 12 KOs) by a unanimous decision in the 12th round at MSG in New York. Last week, it was revealed that Teofimo was injured before the fight with Kambosos, and that he is still making it through the competition.
“We are bringing the big fights here right now. I deserve it; I earned that,” said Kambosos after returning to Australia.
“I haven’t fought here since 2017, so a big fight, and We’re going to bring that to a big stadium with 80,000 people.
“Haney, Davis, Lomachenko, Garcia, they’ll all get it. I know they will go hunting. I am the most sought after man in the world right now. They all call me, but I like it,” Kambosos said.
Kambosos likes Haney to fight
Many boxing fans believe that Kambosos will be knocked down in the next fight as he has never shown great talent in his career.
Yes, Kambosos defeated Teofimio, but that guy seems like something is wrong with him. The only rounds of the fight where Teofimo looked like his old self were the first and tenth rounds.
Teofimo appeared exhausted in the other rounds as if he was exhausted from struggling to gain weight.
“It’s okay,” Kambosos said when informed that Haney would want him next. “I want him to come, and he will, so I’ll take everything off of him, too.”
Haney is not the best choice for Kambosos if he wants more money.
“These belts are not going anywhere. They are here to stay. I come to the big names. Haney, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Lomachenko. No one gets in until they go and earn and deserve it like I went and did it.
“I came for the big fish because the world wants to see it. We’re after the big names, and they’re after me. We’ve got things on the job.
“I loved the battle with Haney. He already has the WBC regular belt, so I love that fight,” Kambosos said when asked about his preferences for the next game.
George arrives with the biggest names
“But I know Tank is also a great fighter, so that was definitely an option. And Lomachenko, I have to respect him. He has most of these belts.
“Obviously Lopez beat him, but you have to respect him. It’s all in the mix. Ryan Garcia, I’d love to see him back in action, but he’s got a ton of followers.
“It will be one of them. There won’t be an adjustment war. Like I said, I was cut from a different fabric. I don’t look like this typical Australian warrior milking now.
“I go with the biggest names. I want to take more risks. I can sit here, milk this and that and try to make as much money as I can.
“It was never me. We will fight the best and continue to prove why we are the number 1 emperor in the lower division,” said Kambosos.
