Kambosos wants Haney to sell his jewelry to make the fight happen Boxing News 24
Via Sean Jones: Undisputed lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr told WBC champ Devin Haney to sell off some of his expensive jewelry in order to cash in on their fight.
For whatever reason, Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) recently bought a bunch of expensive gold necklaces, and Kambasos has been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old’s shopping habits. If Haney can pawn some of his gold chains, maybe he can come up with it everything urgent to make this war a reality.
Kambosos Jr wants to make as much money as possible for his first defense of four 135 lb titles, and it’s unclear whether Haney’s promoters at Matchroom Boxing will live up to his expectations.
Haney is accusing Kambosos of trying to get a “tender war“Start among the six Kings at lightweight to earn as much as you can for your first match as a four-belt champion.
Kambosos tells Haney to sell his jewelry
yes yes yes… we all know you want a bidding war! But you know who’s actually spending the money. You said I’ll be next so keep that energy up https://t.co/k4xazyywoJ

Sean Jones wants to know what happened to Eddie Hearn, Haney’s promoter? He should have said a storm about the Kambosos war, but he didn’t talk a bit about it, which was completely out of character for him.
Hearn is a pretty astute judge of what sells, and the fact that he doesn’t talk about the Kambosos vs Haney fight shows that he knows it won’t do the numbers.
This could mean that Hearn views the Kambosos war as people who don’t make money and aren’t worth pouring tons of dough into.
Kambosos vs. Haney probably won’t bring in a significant number of subscribers to DAZN as the Australian boxer is an unknown to casual boxing fans in the UK and US.
Top ratings, promoters of Vasily Lomachenko, are not expected to pour a lot of money into trying to fight Kambosos because it NOT a pay-per-view fight. Kambosos is a good boxer, but Top Rated won’t be able to sell Kambosos-Lomachenko on ESPN PPV in the US
Interestingly, the Kambosos champion is chasing the opponents, not vice versa. You don’t usually see it, but this could be a signal that Kambosos may have suspected that his 15 minutes of fame would end in his first defense. “Nice belt.”
Kambosos caught his four belts last November, beaten and injured and weighed down Teofimo Lopez with a 12-round unanimous decision.
Teofimo looked like a dead man going into the weigh-in the day before the match, and one could tell from observing him that he would only have enough energy to fight hard for an inning or two.
Sure, Teofimo could only fight hard in two of the twelve rounds, but he was like a tram truck in those two innings. You can only imagine what Teofimo would have done to Kambosos if he hadn’t been injured and lost weight.
George wants fans to choose his next opponent
“Haney, Lomachenko, Tank, Garcia???? WHO’S NEXT!!! I want them all 🏟🇦🇺 Who are the amazing fans who want to see me defend my crown in 2022,” Kambosos Jr said on Twitter, asking fans to choose his next opponent.
So far, Lomachenko is leading in the Kambosos poll, and he is expected to win. Of course, it wouldn’t matter even if he did because Kambosos promoter Lou DiBella wouldn’t bring him in with Lomachenko and watch him get ripped apart in a feeding frenzy.
Out of all those guys, the only one with a chance to fight Kambosos is Haney, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
Kambosos asking Haney to hold his jewelry is a clear sign that he doesn’t like the direction of negotiations.
If the World Boxing Organization orders Kambosos to defend against Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) next, as some believe they will, he will have to decide whether to fight or drop the title. .
