LaLiga hits ‘privileged’ Super League relaunch plans
LaLiga scuttled the plans of another attempt by Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus to relaunch the Super League.

Bernd Reichart, the new CEO of A22 Sports Management, which is pushing the refurbishment plans, recently said that project “very lively” and could relaunch in 2025.
LaLiga responded with a tweet on Friday said: “Super League promoters are currently preparing a model similar to the one launched in 2019, which is still closed or almost closed, which will destroy the national leagues and have been rejected by clubs and federations in Europe.”
The video posted on the tweet states: “Super League promoters are trying to hide its format, claiming that they still don’t have a fixed model, although it will be inclusive and open.

“We know this is wrong and they wanted to offer a semi-closed format similar to 2019, which was rejected by the clubs and [the] European Leagues [group].
“This model is based on promotion and relegation between leagues in Europe, where the national leagues do not provide direct access to the top team. On the contrary, they maintain participation. of a privileged few, even when they perform poorly in the domestic leagues.”
Reicart said the revamped Super League project will be more inclusive with “applying sporting achievements”, which was one of the main criticisms of the original plan.
He also added that the Super League will not be played over the weekend and therefore will not affect domestic leagues.

Football’s governing bodies, UEFA and FIFA, are against the creation of the Super League.
The European Court of Justice (ECJ) will rule in the coming months on the challenge of Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, which are still in the project, to the exclusive control they claim UEFA available for international tournaments.
Reichart, meanwhile, said he will meet UEFA next week in Nyon, Switzerland, to open dialogue.
“We have offered UEFA a method of dialogue and the invitation has been accepted,” he said MARCA. “I’m going to Nyon next week to talk to UEFA about this. That’s also what I understood in the dialogue, that the other side will be heard and we can confront the opinions.
“Sure, we won’t be able to agree on everything. But it’s a good sign for clubs that may still be dodging at the moment or even afraid of sanctions if they get involved. dialogue. the future of football is a positive sign.”
