Lies Of P becomes a real game in August
Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike release P’s lie has been narrowed down until this August. A new story trailer introduces a seemingly sinister character, Simon, while also highlighting a number of dangerous monsters waiting to destroy the player.
Lies of P unfolds in the fictional Belle Époque-era French city of Krat as the player takes control of Pinocchio, a machine puppet in his quest to become human. A certain Mr. Geppetto could help with that, but Krat was overtaken by sinister creatures that Pinocchio had to use his multi-functional robotic arm to defeat.
The game draws inspiration from the work of From Software – Bloodborne in particular – as the player takes down enemies with deliberate sword attacks, while various mechanical arms offer abilities such as Shoot lightning bolts or grappling hooks to hit the target. In addition to the battles, side quests give the option to lie to the characters, and the honesty of your answers changes the direction of these stories.
Lies of P will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S (including Game Pass), and PC. You can learn more by reading our practice preview from Gamescom last year.
