Messi, 35, is in talks to sign a contract extension with PSG, whose current contract expires in June.
Jorge Messi was in Paris on Tuesday for the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich and met PSG’s sporting director, Luis Campos, on Wednesday to discuss a new contract.
The new deal could be a one-year or one-year extension with the option of a 12-month extension, sources told ESPN.
Messi has agreed in principle to stay in the Parc des Princes but sources added that PSG have yet to make an acceptable offer.
The sources added that the two sides remained confident that a deal would be agreed soon, with another meeting, by phone, due next month.
Both PSG and Messi’s side accept that negotiations are part of the process and that no one expected an agreement in their first meeting.
Lien Miami and Barcelona both want to sign the World Cup winner, sources said.
