Lord of the Flies Sunny Edwards defended her IBF title against Felix Alvarado on a special night of boxing in Sheffield.
Edwards covers Probellum’s first show in the City of Steel on Friday, 11 November at the Sheffield Utilita Arena.
And on one of the most exciting games to be held in this year’s boxing tournament, undefeated super bantamweight prospects Jack Bateson and Shabaz Masoud clash in a British title-elimination bout that the British fans are enthralled.
More details on the rest of the impressive cards hosted by Probellum will be announced in due course.
Edwards, one of the world’s most skilled and prestigious champions, defended his IBF crown for the third time against Nicaraguan Alvarado (38-2, 33KOs), a former champion in the underweight division.
And ‘Showtime’ (18-0, 4KOs) knows he mustn’t slip ahead of his must-have challenger because a future showdown with US star Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez is underway.

Edwards puts his precious belt into a bout with Nicaraguan major Felix Alvarado on Friday, November 11 at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.
The world flyweight bout headlined a large-scale Sheffield Probellum show, which also included a thrilling British title elimination between Jack Bateson and Shabaz Masoud.
And Galal Yafai, the 2020 Olympic champion 2-0 as a professional, says Edwards will have to be at his best, if he gets past KO king Alvarado, who has a record 33 saves his scary.
Yafai told 5 Live Boxing: “Sunny and I get along really well, and his gym is just a 5-minute drive from mine.
“I encouraged him in his first game, and we played 10 rounds a week. They are evil people. He is an IBF world champion and he has a tough fight with Alvarado who is a very good boxer. But Sunny was also a very good fighter and the beams showed me where I was.
“You need top games, and you don’t have a lot of flyweights in this country, and that could be a war that can bring the curtain down, in the future.”
Sunny Edwards invited American rival Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez to be in Sheffield to watch him run the “glove” thrown by Felix Alvarado.
Edwards brings world champion boxing to the Utilita Arena on Friday, November 11 as he places his IBF world flyweight title at an event too good to miss.
Edwards aka Showtime said: “I would like to invite Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez to my match on November 11th.
“We will take care of him in Sheffield, take him to the UK a few days before that and then we will put him in the ring on the night of the fight.
“It would be nice to meet the champion because it’s a fight that I’m excited about building because it’s a super fight and he’s a super fighter.”
Not only was Edwards excited about Alvarado’s challenge and declared in front of Rodriguez, but the world champion was looking forward to the rest of the Probellum Sheffield card.
“Jack Bateson against Shabaz Masoud was, in an instant, a great domestic battle,” he said.
“Both have very good support and they had a bit of a back and forth on Twitter. This is a big, big fight, it’s great, and much more will be announced for the rest of the cards. So there’s my world championship fight, Bateson vs Masoud etc coming up, and ticket starting at £35. It’s a very good card. “
The 26-year-old has been given a fresh focus by mandatory challenger Alvarado after witnessing a united clash with Julio Cesar Martinez fail.
“He was the first fighter in my entire career who had a real belief in wanting to fight me and who did everything to make it happen,” Edwards (18-0) said more.
“When Alvarado moved up from lightweight fly, he called me right away and so I was amused by the fact that he threw down the glove.
“He really caught my attention and I don’t know why the others weren’t against me.
“Maybe because they know, with my style, I’ll suck their souls; I imagine they can’t even bear to watch any of my matches because they know I make people look like they’ve forgotten how to box. They cannot understand it. They are playing chess and I am playing chess.
“But Alvarado is a big Nicaraguan puncher who wants to fight, and he sees me as a goldmine.”
