Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James fined for obscene gesture, warned for obscene language
NEWYORK — LeBron James The NBA was fined $15,000 for an obscene gesture on Friday, and also warned the Lakers superstar about using profanity.
James made the move after hitting a late shot in Los Angeles’ 124-116 extra-time win in Indiana on Wednesday night.
He missed a loss at New York the night before after he was suspended for one game for hitting Detroit center Isaiah Stewart in the face and draw blood last Sunday. He used profanity in his post-match interview after the Indiana win when discussing the suspension.
Also on Friday, the NBA fined Portland’s Robert Covington $15,000 for throwing the mask at the referee Wednesday. He was technically fouled and disqualified for that action with 49 seconds remaining in the second half of the Trail Blazers’ 125-121 loss in Sacramento.
