Luis Bonilla promoted to Chief Technology Officer at SoundExchange
Luis Bonilla has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer at Performing Rights Organization of the United States SoundExchange.
Bonilla’s new role at SoundExchange puts him in charge of the company’s technology and infrastructure.
Previously, he served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Operations.
SoundExchange says that Bonilla will manage the creation and scaling of its tools for better digital performance royalty collection and distribution.
Since joining SoundExchange in 2011 as Senior Director of Distribution Services, the company says Bonilla has led the transition from quarterly to monthly royalty distribution and redesign. its royalty distribution processes and technologies.
He has also led bilateral exchanges with foreign collective management organizations and led an overhaul of SoundExchange’s international collection and distribution services.
Bonilla also led the development of SoundExchange’s Business and Analytics methodology, helping to better inform the company’s data interface.
Prior to joining SoundExchange, Bonilla ran the IT department at Artistas Intérpretes Sociedad de Gestión, the organization that manages audiovisual performers in Spain.
Bonilla is also on the Board of Directors of DDEX, the international organization dedicated to improving the exchange of data and information in the music industry.
