Macy’s Releases 10 NFT-Themed Thanksgiving Day Parades for Auction: Here’s What We Know
American retailer Macy’s has listed a series of ten non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on a Thanksgiving Day theme. The store is famous for its annual Thanksgiving Parade and is now bringing this to the crypto world. NFTs are virtual collections linked to real life objects such as games, artwork, and music among others whose ownership is locked and transferred on the blockchain. Each NFT is inspired by Macy’s parade balloons that debuted years ago. With this NFT collection, the retail chain is marking the 95th anniversary of its popular Thanksgiving Day Parade. Biddings for these NFTs will end on November 30.
Balloons showing Macy’s black and white toy soldier from 1920, elves from 2000 and a spaceman from the 1950s are among NFT released to be auctioned. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The current bid on this NFT collection ranges from $8000 (approximately Rs. 5.9 lakh) to $29,000 (approximately Rs. 21 lakh), according to the information displayed on the NFT marketplace. Sweet.

Continuing to raise prices on NFT wagons, the retail chain also created 9,500 parade-themed products such as first-come, first-served gifts.
In the third quarter of 2021, NFT sales grew to $10.7 billion (approximately Rs 79,820), an increase of more than eight times from the previous quarter, according to data from the market tracking firm. DappRadar.
Given the popularity of the space, several brands like Macy’s have released NFTs to connect with the new age crypto population.
In early March, Taco Bell became the first fast food brand to release an NFT collection. The company introduced five versions of “NFTacoBells” and sold five versions of each within 30 minutes on the Rarible trading platform.
In September, the mammoth burger Burger King Sweet partnership NFT platform to allow customers to scan QR codes and collect NFTs.
Recently, fast food chain McDonalds also launched a limited edition of 10 yen McRib NFTs in the United States in an effort to do something big on the 40th anniversary of the McRib burger.
