Made ‘By the Players’ – Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Team Announces New Player-Designed Uniforms
When Wisconsin Men’s basketball team wearing jerseys for Saturday’s game against opponents Marquette, the players will be wearing special threads they design themselves.
New alternate uniform, called “By Player”, designed by Johnny Davis, Jordan Davis, Lorne Bowman II, Ben Carlson and Tyler Wahl, in partnership with Under Armor.
The #23 plaid jacket takes inspiration from Wisconsin uniforms of the past: A red and white plaid pattern decorates the collar and sleeves – a trademark of the late 1970s when Bill Cofield was coach chief officer. Cofield was the first black men’s basketball coach in Big Ten convention history.

And perhaps the most eye-catching part of the new kit is the white “UW” lettering, with red trim across the chest, branded on the jersey for the first time. Last point: The Badger logo precedes the letter W, above the players’ numbers on the back of the jersey.
The Badgers chose a great Saturday to launch these new themes, as it was the opening game for their home team and “Stripe Out” game.
