Mali's Sire Sands freshman stood out at Bordeaux

Ballyhane Stud resident Sand of Mali (Fr) (Panis) becomes the latest European first crop sire to achieve success with his Florian Guyader-trained daughter Hide Evidence (Ire) shook off her maiden status with a two-length maiden victory by five furlongs in Monday's Prix du Medoc at Bordeaux.

Pushing hard for victory in second place, the 51-10 chance came just under sterner urging and continued strongly after being beaten by long-time leader Sunset Bikini (Fr) (Le Brivido {Fr} ) swept in the final furlong to beat that rival by two lengths. Hide The Proof, a full sister to a yearling colt, is the first of two foals out of a winning half-sister to the Listed Victrix Cup two-year-old and G3 Firth Of Clyde S. Third Ventura Mist (GB) (Pastoral Pursuit {GB}). March Bay's third stakes dam Jetbeeah (Ire) (Lomond), herself a daughter of G2 winner Gallinule S. Welsh Fantasy (Ire) (Welsh Pageant {Fr}), is a dam of G3 Prix de Royaumont victrix Lady's Purse (GB) (Doyen {Ire}) and Dazilyn Lady (Zilzal) are well-placed stakes.
