Marjorie Taylor Greene Denies Knowing Nick Fuentes After Speech at White Nationalist Conference AFPAC
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) defended her appearance Saturday at a white nationalist rally Friday night, CBS News reported.
Greene made a surprise guest appearance at the First American Political Action Conference on Friday at the Orlando World Center Marriott, the conservative white nationalist rival of the Conservative Political Action Conference. . She followed that up with her own board at CPAC on Saturday morning, “They can’t shut us down!”
When confronted by CBS’s Robert Costa on Saturday about her appearance, Greene said she disapproved of her views and claimed to not know the organizer and oppose Nick Fuentes, who praised the President. Russia Vladimir Putin on the invasion of Ukraine.
“I don’t know Nick Fuentes. I never heard him speak, I never watched the video. I don’t know what his views are so I don’t agree with anything controversial,” she said.
“I went to his event last night to talk to his huge following because it’s a very young following and it’s a generation I’m super interested in,” she said.
Her claim was made despite a picture of Greene with Fuentes (he’s behind you, congresswoman!)
Far-right radio host and AFPAC spokesman Stew Peters told The Daily Beast that Greene had been unmasked as a liar.
“Given her degenerate past, her campaigning for black compensation, and sending hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash from blue-collar donors straight to Kevin’s deep state base McCarthy, it’s not surprising to see Marjorie Taylor Greene lie and cheat so quickly. Nick Fuentes in his stomach just hours after feigning nausea at his rapidly growing movement of Christ-centered First Patriots.
She also called Putin a killer for the invasion of Ukraine – before using the two-minute conversation to attack Joe Biden for Putin’s decisions.
Fuentes did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Beast, but a photo from AFPAC shows both Greene and Fuentes posing together.
Since Greene came out, GOP responses have been muted. Ronna McDaniel did not respond to a question from CBS News about Greene’s appearance at the white nationalist convention, while Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) would not answer whether Greene was allowed. to speak at the CPAC after the appearance or not.
“There should not be any racist politics. I believe we shouldn’t ask people the color of their skin,” Scott told The Daily Beast. “We should not treat people differently because of the color of their skin – we are all made in the image of God. We should have the opportunity to fulfill our dreams. “
However, the Republican Jewish Coalition condemned Greene’s appearance at the white nationalist event.
“It is appalling and infuriating that a member of parliament would share a platform with an individual who has actively spread anti-epidemic secrets, mocked the Holocaust, and promoted dangerous anti-Israel conspiracy theories.” the person said in a statement. “We also condemn Congressman Paul Gosar’s participation in the same event via video address after appearing in person last year.”
