Masters 2022 – Return of Tigers Woods and full capacity drive demand and Masters ticket prices
The masters Returning to the full crowd for the first time since 2019 and with Tiger Woods‘The return is highly anticipated, ticketing markets are seeing growing demand for one of golf’s most prestigious events.
StubHub spokesman Adam Budelli told ESPN that the average price (considering practice and competition rounds) of a ticket is about $1,644 higher – 21% higher than the price StubHub saw in 2019.
“We’re seeing huge demand for this Masters and actually going beyond 2019, which is a unique event because of Tiger’s return from injury that year,” Budelli said. Budelli said. “But with 2020 [Masters] no fans, obviously limited to 2021, there’s definitely a lot of demand out there. And then talking more about the past, you know, less than a week of rumors about Tiger after his practice round on Thursday, we saw a spike in sales. “
Budelli added that if Woods is able to cut back to compete on Saturday and Sunday, “We would expect ticket prices to spike.”
According to Vivid Seats data, it has also seen a price increase compared to 2019.

Woods, who hasn’t participated in a PGA Tour tournament since playing at the postponed Masters in November 2020, was seriously injured in a car crash outside of Los Angeles. on February 23, 2021. He told reporters in December that surgeons almost had to amputate his right leg.
Woods will tee off in the first round at 10:34 a.m. ET on Thursday with South Africa Louis Oosthuizen and of Chile Joaquin Niemann.
Admission price – as of Wednesday afternoon – is $1,600 on StubHub. Budelli said the market expects those prices to pick up as the sector shrinks after Thursday and Friday rounds.
The Masters is a hot ticket in any given year, but given the circumstances of the past few years with the pandemic and Woods’ return, this weekend’s event is sure to attract more interest and eyes.
