Meet Ferragamo’s newly appointed creative director, Maximilian Davis
The Italian luxury footwear company recently announced its new creative director – who is in development and coming and is hugely popular. British designer Maximilian Davis. Before Davis, Paul AndrewsAn American footwear designer, was the creative director of Ferragamo until his resignation in April 2020.
The Ferragamo CEO said of his appointment, “The clarity of Maximilian Davis’ vision coupled with his level of execution and strong aesthetic have made him one of the most talented individuals in the world. brightest of his generation. His work is defined by elegance, refined sensuality and unwavering commitment to quality. Through his contemporary sensibility, he will write an exciting new chapter for a home built on a legacy of creativity, craftsmanship, sophistication and outstanding human values, ” according to the brand’s official Instagram account.
Davis also took to Instagram to share that he’s “extremely honored to be joining @Ferragamo and grateful for the opportunity to build on the home’s rich and profound heritage. The Ferragamo represents a dedication to timeless elegance and sophistication that I find incredibly inspiring. I aim to express my vision, enhanced by the principles of Italian craftsmanship, quality and innovation. ”
The Trinidadian-born British designer, a semi-finalist at this year’s LVMH Awards, studied at London College of Fashion and has worked with top designers such as Wales Bonner, Mowalola, Asai and Supriya Lele.
The designer launched his eponymous label in 2020 and quickly achieved success as his designers were seen on the red carpet, attracting fashion icons like RihannaJourdan Dunn, Kim Kardashianand Dua Lipaamong others.
Davis will be shutting down the label to begin his role at Ferragamo, effective March 16, 2022.
