Meghan McCain Attacks Whoopi Goldberg and ‘The View’ in New Memoir | News
Just a few months after leaving See, Meghan McCain is beating up her former co-hosts in a new memoir.
In an excerpt for Diversity, McCain said in Bad Republican Party that the iconic talk show “creates drama: producers cannot control the hosts, manage conflicts, or control leaks. My point on the show is that working at The View brings out the worst in people. ”
She also said, “I believe all women and staff are working in conditions where the culture is so prominent, it’s like quicksand.”
The former Fox News pundit doesn’t stop there. She’s aiming for censors Whoopi Goldberg, said, “The thing about Whoopi, though, is that she has so much power in the cultural and television spheres, and once she turns you down, that can create unpredictable tension on the table. I found her showing a disdain for me that became more and more difficult to manage as the years went by and it became more frequent.”
McCain mentioned moments that went viral, like when Goldberg told the 36-year-old the celebrity and repeatedly spoke through his co-hosts, “Girl, please stop talking.” She also brought up another moment where Whoopi replied with a simple sentence “Okay” after a long while from conservative commentator.
McCain stated that she was “really hurt” and said in her memoir, “Day after day, week after week, these things take their toll.”
She also complained about the original host Joy Behar. When the 79-year-old said she didn’t miss her baby after maternity leave, McCain claimed she fell into an “uncontrollable sob” in front of the camera. According to her, she told the producers she wanted an apology – Behar refused.
In addition, McCain credited himself for Seehigh ratings,”See wouldn’t have ranked like it did during my four years if I were like the conservative co-hosts who succeeded Elisabeth Hasselbeck. ”
For years, there were allegations that it was Meghan McCain who made the gig a toxic work environment. Back in January 2020, Page six reported “tensions have run high” and that the presenter “has lost patience” with Meghan McCain.
