Metroid Dread has a new Boss Rush mode
Free update for Metroid Dread added Boss Rush and other new modes, Nintendo announced.
Players can hit bosses in Boss Rush one at a time, and while rockets will be replenished after each battle, any damage taken will continue into the next battle.
However, defeating a boss will upgrade Samus’s abilities, adding to the player’s max rockets, Energy Pots, and Power Bombs.
Survival Rush has also been added, a mode similar to Boss Rush but instead of fighting a certain number of enemies, the player has a limited amount of time to take down as many as possible.
Neither rocket nor health is replenished between battles but the player is rewarded with extra time to defeat a boss, with a reward for doing so without taking damage.
For those wanting a challenge, the one-hit kill Dread Mode is getting its own version of Boss Rush, where players must tackle 12 bosses in a row without hitting a single shot.
Of course, this will require some serious skill, so Nintendo has added a Practice Mode for players to choose specific bosses to fight at will.
Nintendo previously added two new difficulty options Metroid Dread makes Boss Rush and these other new game modes the second major update since the game launched last October.
