The International Boxing Museum and Museum today announced the members of the Class of 2022. The living freestylers include the champions Miguel Cotto, Roy Jones Jr. and James Toney in the Men’s Modern category; champion Regina Halmich and Holly Holm in the category of Modern Women; public person Bill Caplan in the Opt Out category; and journalists Ron Borges and historian/producer Bob Yalen in the Observer category.
The one who gets the support is the junior lightweight champion “The Seattle Flash” Tod Morgan in the category Old Timer and Ring announcer Chuck Hull in the Non-Participants category. Chief Executive Officer Edward Brophy said: “We are extremely excited about the Class of 2022 and look forward to honoring the newest fighters to claim boxing’s highest honor.
As the previous two Intro Weekends have been cancelled, the Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 will be honored in the “Once in a Lifetime” program. Hall of Fame Weekend Touch Trio scheduled for June 9-12 in “The Homeland of Boxing”.
“With today’s announcement, we’re thrilled to have the final installment of the Touch Trilogy,” Brophy said.
NS Class of 2020 consists of Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Christy Martin, Lucia Rijker, Barbara Buttrick, Frank Erne, Paddy Ryan, Lou DiBella, Kathy Duva, Dan Goossen, Bernard Fernandez and Thomas Hauser.
NS Class of 2021 consists of Wladimir Klitschko, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Laila Ali, Ann Wolfe, Marian Trimiar, Jackie Tonawanda, Davey Moore, Freddie Brown, Dr. Margaret Goodman, Jackie McCoy, George Kimball and Jay Larkin.
NS 2022 Hall of Fame Weekend Trilogy There will be multiple events at Canastota’s “Hometown of Boxing” during the four-day celebration, including the 5K Race/Fun Run, boxing autograph card display, Parade of Champions and Official Introductory Ceremony on the Hall of Fame Museum District. Hall of Fame weekend evening events include Friday night Night of fighting at spinning rock and saturday Banquet of champions. Both events will take place at the Turning Stone Resort Casino near Verona, NY.
