Mike Tyson ‘died’ from toad venom, ‘death is beautiful’
Mike Tyson experienced death, he said The New York Post. And it’s ‘beautiful.’
The former heavyweight champion said he went to the other side after sucking poison from the Sonoran Desert toad, which produces a psychoactive experience or drug trip lasting about 20 minutes. “Toad” is clearly gaining popularity.
Tyson said he first tried it four years ago, when he was abusing alcohol and drugs and feeling unhappy.
“I died on my first ride,” Tyson told the newspaper. “In my travels, I have found that death is beautiful. Life and death must be beautiful, but death also has ugliness. The toad taught me that I won’t be here forever. There is an expiration date. “
A friend suggested he try the toad dish. He has now done it 53 times, which he says has helped him lose weight and improve his personal relationships. He also returned to boxing in his mid-50s.
He became so passionate about the experience that he now has a nursery full of the creatures on his ranch in Desert Hot Springs, California.
“I did it recklessly,” Tyson said. “I was on heavy drugs like cocaine, so why not? It’s another dimension. Before I was a toad, I was a waste. The toughest opponent I’ve ever faced was myself. I had low self-esteem.
“People with big egos often have low self-esteem. We use our ego to subsidize that. The toad takes away the ego.”
He continued: “People see the difference [in me]. It speaks for itself. If you knew me in 1989, you knew someone else. My mind is not sharp enough to understand what happened, but life has improved. The whole purpose of the toad is to reach your highest potential. I see the world in a different way. We are all the same. Everything is love.”
Tyson spoke to The Post at Wonderland, a conference on psychedelics in Miami. He has been in the cannabis business for many years.
