Milwaukee Bucks DeMarcus Cousins Signing Center With No Guarantee Agreement
NS Milwaukee Bucks is signing the All-Star Center four times DeMarcus Cousins, sources told ESPN on Sunday.
Sources say the cousin, 31, will sign an unsecured contract to join the defending NBA champion. Teams must secure contracts for the remainder of the season by January 7.
Bucks had no center Brook Lopez because of a back injury and needed some extra size to strengthen their front line. Cousins played parts of the 2020-21 season with Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers, including some remarkably good plays in the Clippers’ run to the Western Conference finals.
Cousins has averaged 20.4 points and 10.6 rebounds over his 10-year NBA career, including two significant leg injuries in recent years – an ACL tear and a laceration Achilles. He was a four-time All-Star and twice selected to the All-NBA second team (2015 and 2016).
He played for seven years with Sacramento Kings until trading with New Orleans in 2017, and entering into consecutive free agency deals with Golden State, Houston, the Clippers and now the Bucks.
