Monica Rose On Sneakers With Suits & Her Foot Locker Project
Over the past two years, workplace culture has changed as we know it, which means that our ideas around workplace style has also been permanently changed. Gone are the days of standing still heel and in their place a penchant for all-round comfort, including age-old sneakers.
Monica Rose She is well versed in sneaker culture, as a stylist who has brought some of her celebrity clients such as Shay Mitchell and Lauren London into comfortable yet chic shoe styles. Now, she’s helping everyday female entrepreneurs figure out how to incorporate sneakers into their work-focused looks through a partnership with Footboard for Women’s History Month.
In one videotapes Highlighting their collaborations, Rose-style ads and entrepreneurs include Jessica Wu, Scottie Beam, Vic Jacobiand Jenn Barthole dressed in sneakers to return to the office or to a job interview.
Rose herself also paired her Air Jordan 1 with a classic white button-down shirt and high-waisted trousers for a cool yet professional look.
She believes it’s time “to rewrite the rules to show that a businesswoman doesn’t have to wear heels and a vest because she can pair that with stylish sneakers.” , Rose told POPSUGAR. “Sneakers have always been great, but it’s cooler now. And you can tailor the pants you’re wearing to them or you can cut your pants to really accentuate the sneakers.”
