Mortal Kombat 1 trailer adds a bunch of characters back to its roster
NetherRealm Studios has released a new trailer for the upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 1, with the latest trailer confirming more characters will be on the roster at launch.
The latest trailer features Smoke and Rain, two characters with a long history in the Mortal Kombat franchise. It also revealed four new Kameo Fighters: Sektor, Cyrax, Frost, and Scorpion. Again, Kameo Fighters is a separate roster of characters in Mortal Kombat 1 that can assist the player in battle.
Smoke was first introduced back in Mortal Kombat 2 as a secret unplayable character before making his debut in Mortal Kombat 3 as a cyborg. He first appeared in human form in 2011 in Mortal Kombat. He mainly specializes in his ability to use speed and smoke, which is reflected in the trailer where he attacks his enemies with a dagger then reappears in a puff of smoke to exit. finishing blow.
Rain, meanwhile, first appeared in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 as a gag character intended to fool players into thinking he could unlock before appearing in the console versions. He was later playable in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and Mortal Kombat (2011). As a demigod, Rain controls water and lightning, and he appears in the trailer abusing Scorpion with his distinctive waterbending style.
The rest of the trailer features Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Smoke working together to infiltrate a complex, as well as a typical gruesome death from Smoke. Outside of the new story trailer, NetherRealm Studios has released several new gameplay videos, including the high-level battle between Scorpion and Johnny Cage.
NetherRealm also provides new details on Scorpion, Johnny Cage, and Kameo Kung Lao.
Mortal Kombat 1 is disclosure in May during a monetization call by NetheRealm’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery organized. The game is a sequel to 2019’s Mortal Kombat 11 but will also serve as a reboot, with Netherealm Studios previously noting that the game “will introduce a reincarnated Mortal Kombat Universe.” Immediately after the reveal, news surfaced that Amazon May Have Leaked The Game’s First Kombat DLC Packincluding characters like Quan Chi, Omni Man and Peacemaker, among others.
