Motorola set to launch two flagship phones in December with Snapdragon SoC
Motorola is said to be launching two flagship handsets in December. One of them is said to be powered by the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 8 flagship processor and the other is said to be will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC. The latter was announced earlier this year and is an overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo Mobile Business Group, confirmed the arrival of Motorola Edge X earlier this month. This model is said to be a smartphone geared towards gaming.
China tipster digital chat station established Weibo leaked that Motorola will announce two flagships in November. While one is likely Okay Motorola Edge X, the name of the remaining smartphone is not known. The tipper claims that one will be powered by the rumored Snapdragon Gen 8 flagship processor and the other will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC. It’s more likely that the Motorola Edge X could be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon Gen 8 flagship processor. Earlier, it was rumored to be Snapdragon 898 but reports now claim that it could be called Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
The tipper also claims that the flagship launching with the Snapdragon 888+ SoC could cost less than the traditional flagship series, making it a compelling offering. The name of this flagship is not leaked, but if we speculate, it could also be part of the Motorola Edge series. The latest Edge series includes Motorola Edge S Pro and Motorola Edge Lite.
In addition to Motorola Edge X, images and specifications of another flagship handset – Motorola Edge 30 Ultra – was also leaked recently, hinting at an impending launch.
