My Favorite Things Friday #402
We will be spending the next few days in Breckenridge with some of our best friends from college. We’re planning to fill our days with lots of skiing and plan to unplug as much as possible and soak up every second with some of our favorites! I’m sure I’ll have some pictures to share at some point next week but until then, let’s keep things steady and dive into my weekly. My favorite things on Friday favorite ring!
My favorite things on Friday
I’ve always liked the look of lovely nail art but this is actually the first time I’ve done a little something extra for my nails at a local salon. I was invited to visit Freecoat, a cruelty-free nail salon in our area, and their top nail tech did a great job! I found my nail inspiration on Pinterest (I just did a search for “Valentine’s Day Nails”) and love the subtle way the lovely red hearts stand out against the colored bubble paint. light pink. I haven’t had my nails done in almost a year and just looking at them makes me smile!
And for the discerning readers out there, it’s not my original ring/bracelet. My wedding ring was back after only a few months of getting it back. I put a bandage on at a local jeweler and it only helped for a few months until the itch returned. Until I can find a more permanent solution, I will proudly show eternal band $14 I bought out Amazon.
A friend told me about these things cute scratches you can make notes for your kids and i added them to my amazon cart as fast as i could! How cute are they!? I think they would be fun to use for little love notes before Valentine’s Day and also those from Tooth Fairy as Chase seems to be losing teeth every week. Since the Tooth Fairy isn’t my favorite (we always forget and then freak out in the morning!), maybe these will help me remember and embrace the Tooth Fairy inside of me? I also use them on little sticky notes for the boys to read every day while we’re away this weekend and hope they’ll love them!
Wordle taking over the world right now! Are you guys playing!? My friend Leah texted our group of college friends earlier in the week and I was instantly hooked! I sent it to Ryan and now we happily talk about the new word every day, how many tries it took us to understand the word and the different strategies. There’s only ONE word per day that I love because you play it once and then you’re done. And everyone in the world gets the same word every day!
Brief summary: There is a 5-letter word of the day that you try to figure out. Enter any 5 letter word to start. From there, if you see a green letter, it means you have guessed one letter of the day correctly and it’s in the right place! If the letter is yellow, it means that the letter is in the word but in the wrong place. Gray letters are completely absent from the word. Have fun!!!
This one is for any of you out there who might also be building a home or working on home improvement or design projects. Samplize saved me when choosing our cabinet color! It’s a one-stop shop that allows me to order large samples of split-stick paint in a variety of paint colors from different brands. I was shocked at the huge difference this made for me when I received the larger samples. I ended up rotating my selections in a few areas because the colors looked so different. I actually had some smaller paint sample cards from paint stores and am still so glad I ordered the larger samples as it definitely made a difference for me! I have a feeling that I will be reusing the site shortly for wall color, exterior paint, shutters, etc!
