NBA players congratulate Steph Curry as he breaks Ray Allen’s 3-point record
With two Tuesday nights 3s versus New York Knicks, Golden Empire Warriors protection point Stephen the curry overtook Ray Allen on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointer list to move up to the top spot.
The NBA has been following Curry since Wednesday, December 8, when the Warriors hosted Portland Trail Blazers and Curry is 16 3 seconds short of the record. Before that game, Curry said he will win Allen’s record, as well as his teammates Klay ThompsonRecord of the most 3 seconds in a game at the age of 14.
Six days and three games later, Curry finally overtook Allen at Madison Square Garden.
With just a minute to play, Curry equaled Allen’s record with the first shot of the night. He hit the 2,974 mark of his career with a score of 7:33 to advance in the first quarter as the 28-foot long jumper.

Allen was in the crowd and congratulated Curry with a hug as play stopped to allow fans and teammates to celebrate the moment with the NBA’s newest 3-point lead.
Before the match, Allen took to social media to reflect on the moment he passed Reggie Miller for the top spot, and shared his excitement at being there to officially pass the torch to Curry.
And with Curry’s record-breaking hit, many NBA players took to social media to congratulate Curry on his latest milestone.

While Curry’s parents were present, along with Davidson College head coach Bob McKillop, his brother, Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth curry, shared his congratulations online.
