Negla Abdela promoted to Managing Director at Ministry of Sound in the UK
Music Sony UK promoted Negla Abdela as Executive Director at Ministry of Sound.
Abdela joined Ministry of Sound in 2015 as Director of Social Media, before being promoted to Head of Digital in 2018, then to General Manager in 2021.
She is responsible for managing the digital and marketing teams, working on the label’s roster to deliver multi-platinum single and album campaigns.
Sony Music UK says Abdela has played a central role in the success of Ministry of Sound since joining in 2015 and has “helped drive exponential growth, increasing market share year over year”.
The label has achieved a string of multi-platinum hits from artists including Paul Woolford, Ewan McVicar, Riton and Majestic as well as successfully spearheaded global campaigns for local talent such as Regard, London Grammar and Sigala.
The group has also enjoyed success with international artists including Doja Cat, Tate McRae and Lil Durk.
Negla Abdela is on the steering committee of Sony Music UK’s Social Justice Fund and is a Co-Executive Sponsor for Music SonyHUE Internal Diversity Committee (Helps Unite People).
Earlier this year, Abdela appeared on Empower’s 2023 Role Model List, which showcases individuals who are advocating for people of color in the workplace.

In another recent Sound Ministry news, Dipesh Parmar has promote to Chairman, Columbia Records UK in December, along with Amy Wheatley, who was appointed Chief Executive Officer.
Parmar and Wheatley both joined Columbia Records UK from Sound Setwhere Parmar was formerly President and Wuniheatley was formerly MD.
Sound Set become one a subsidiary of Columbia Records UK according to these changes.
Sony Music acquires London-based company Sound Set label for approx £67 million in 2016.
