Nell Gwyn’s goal for Zain Claudette
Zain Claudette (Ire) (No, never), last year’s G2 winner Lowther S. and Princess Margaret S.
Coach Ismail Mohammed said, “She is doing well and we are going to give her a test run at Newmarket on seven feathers. I’m happy with the way she’s working and I think she’ll handle seven clamps. We had to raise her to seven before we decided to go over a mile.”
Mohammed could also have a runner-up on the night of the Dubai World Cup, with Good Effort (Ire) (Shamardal) could go for G1 Golden Shaheen after finishing second in the G3 Riyadh Dirt sprint on February 26. The April 15 Betway All-Weather Championship sprint is also being considered for the 7-year-old.
“He runs very well [in Saudi],” said Mohammed. “We challenged the winner [Dancing Prince], but he ran away from us. He is a good horse.
“He has returned home safely and we are always thinking about the night of the World Cup in Dubai. We have entered him and we are waiting to hear. There is also all-weather racing in England, three weeks after the World Cup. We’ll see how it goes. He qualified for the final by winning at Lingfield. ”
