Horizon Forbidden West, the much-anticipated sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, is finally coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 next february and it looks like PlayStation is ramping up its marketing for the game.
That’s because just over a week later New trailer at The Game Awards 2021, Guerilla Games released another intro, this time giving us a better look at some of the new machines we’ll be up against in the game above February 18, 2022. Titled “The Machine of the West Forbidden,” this trailer gives us a closer look at the armadillo-like Rollerback, the flying pterodactyl-like Sunwing, and the robotic snake Slitherfang.
“In the West Forbidden City, inspirational machines rule the lands,” the trailer’s description suggests. “These technologically advanced robots have become Earth’s dominant species and pose a serious threat throughout Aloy’s mission.”
If the trailer is any indication, these three introduced enemies are found either in the more plains of the West or, in the case of Slitherfang, along the beaches of what used to be California. The trailer also reveals some new features of the robotic dinosaur. For example, Rollerback seems to have the ability to reattach armor that has been knocked out by enemies like Aloy. Also, Slitherfang is huge – like, really big, and we’re completely unafraid of having to fight it… absolutely fearless.
We also get another look at Tremortusk, which has been featured heavily in previous Horizon Forbidden West showcases. It’s an elephant-like machine we’ve seen before but in this trailer, instead of being featured on a beach, we see it in a snowy area.
