New Kingdom Hearts Mobile Game, Link Missing, Announced, Closed Beta Testing This Year
Square Enix has revealed a new Kingdom Hearts mobile game called Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link and a closed beta test will take place this year.
Revealed in a new 20th Anniversary Announcement Trailer Released today, Missing-Link looks more like a console Kingdom Hearts experience than a standard mobile Kingdom Hearts (in terms of gameplay, at least). It features the familiar 3D, Heartless environments we’ve been fighting for decades, this time in full-fledged combat and combat arenas, just like the main series. You can check it out in action below, around 1 hour 55 minutes:
As you can see in the trailer above, it looks like we can even create and customize our own Keyblade Masters, or at least, we don’t play as Keyblade Masters we do. known throughout the rest of the series. Several previously visited worlds are also shown, including Disney worlds such as the Tangled world from Kingdom Hearts III and the original Kingdom Hearts worlds.
If you’re excited to see Miss-Link out, you might get a chance at some point this year as Square Enix said that in 2022 it will hold closed beta testing for the mobile title on different platforms. iOS and Android devices in specific regions of the world. Square Enix doesn’t reveal the location, but presumably, Japan will be one of them considering that’s where the company is based.
As for what’s going on in Missing-Link, all we have to do at the moment is the dub presented in the trailer. Here’s what was said, in full:
“Light and darkness give the beginning, and the heart nurtures it. Life goes on from time to time, until this land has prosperous people. This is the city for light and shadow, dreams and distortions, what is remembered and forgotten – Scala ad Caelum. Link is missing. Here, people gather to be part of a whole, in societies that stretch and branch like blood vessels through the city. The night that you wake up in this world, the stars shine in the pitch-black sky. ”
While closed beta testing is ongoing this year, Square Enix did not reveal when Missing-Link will actually be released on iOS and Android devices.
Square Enix also revealed in today’s trailer that the “long-awaited finale” of Kingdom Hearts Union X’s years-long story, which takes place in the Kingdom Hearts Dark Road mobile game, will be released. Free this August.
