New Vocation's Open Barn & BBQ will be held on April 25
The 7th annual New Vocations Open Barn & BBQ will take place on Thursday, April 25 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at its Lexington, KY facility at Mereworth Farm, the organization said via press release Monday.
Presented by Seidman Stables, the event is open to the public free of charge and will feature a series of educational workshops, including one by international five-star event organizer Allie Knowles. There will be opportunities to meet adoptable horses while touring the facility, and visitors can expect an interactive, educational program on a variety of topics related to Thoroughbreds on and off the track, will also include live performances.
Live music, food trucks, small cash registers and a silent auction are also part of the event. The auction is currently living and the items offered can be auctioned until 8 p.m. April 25. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to support New Vocations' mission of rehabilitating, retraining and nurturing retired racehorses. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. and the first demo will take place at 4:30 p.m
