Nintendo will shut down a third mobile game
Nintendo is shutting down one of its other mobile titles, because it announced that service for Dragalia is gone will end after the final chapter of the campaign is released this July.
“Dragalia Lost’s main campaign is slated to end in July 2022 with season two of chapter 26, the final addition and climax to its long-running story,” official announcement read. “Once the main campaign ends, service for the game will end at a later date. More details on the service end date schedule will be provided in a future announcement.”

Dragalia Lost is a newly released IP specially for mobile devices. It’s an action RPG that takes place in the Kingdom of Alberia, where humans and dragons once coexisted. game interweaving elements of popular mobile games into its RPG systems, most notably the gacha system. As of 2020, The game generated $123 million in revenueonly followed by Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
Nintendo entered the mobile space in 2016 with launched Miitomo; a gambling social media app featuring Nintendo’s Mii characters. Popular Nintendo franchises have finally made their way to mobile, including Super Mario, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Pikmin.
Miitomo was the first mobile game that Nintendo shut down, service ends in 2018. Then in 2020, reports show Nintendo has moved away from mobile gaming. Since then, Nintendo also shuts down Dr. Mario Worlda match three spins according to the puzzle formula Dr. Mario.
It seems that Nintendo’s family-friendly side is uncomfortable with the microtransactions aspect of mobile games. ONE report says Nintendo is more interested in using the mobile space as advertising for its core console business, rather than as a primary source of cash flow.
