Nissan publishes nearly 60 years of archived content
Rejoice Nissan lovers! We’ve just found your new favorite tool to go back in time and relive the day your favorite model came out.
Nissan said it has “expanded a lot” repository of news articles on the global newsroom website for media, launched in 1999.
The Japanese automaker scanned and digitized all of its existing pre-1999 releases and made them available on the newsroom as PDFs of the original print version.
The Japanese versions date back to 1961, which is when Nissan’s communications division was founded, while the English versions date back to 1963.
Going forward, Nissan plans to “enrich the information” on its newsroom website with the addition of photographs from its collection, including those used at the time of publication. news and photos related to vehicles.

The Japanese automaker is not the first to upload its archives, as Ford recently published a searchable database called the Heritage Vault.
