Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic is ready to go home after winning the NBA
After making it through the NBA Playoffs en route to the Larry O’Brien Trophy and Finals MVP, Denver nuggets star Nikola Jokić just want to go home.
With the championship parade scheduled for Thursday, Jokic is worried about being able to return to watch his race this weekend.
“I will ask Josh [Kroenke] to give me the plane,” Jokic said as he entered the game after the game on the NBA TV console. “I will put him under pressure. I don’t feel bad at all.”
Kroenke is of course the Vice President of Nuggets.

That wasn’t the only instance where the MVP twice mentioned going home after Denver’s Game 5 win over the Miami Heat.
In his post-winning court interview with ESPN, Jokic said: “The job is done, we can go home now.”
Later, when meeting reporters during his post-match press conference, the Serbian centre-back was asked if he was excited about the upcoming parade.
“NO. I need to go home,” he said after learning the expected date of the Nuggets’ anniversary.
Jokic is known for his love for horses, spends most of his off-season tending to his more than half a dozen horses at his stables in Serbia – where he accepted his 2021-22 NBA MVP reward.
2023 NBA Finals MVP Bill Russell averaged 30.2 points, 14.0 bounces, and 7.2 assists in a five-game streak against the Heat while also becoming the first player to take the full lead. NBA in points, bounces, and assists in a single season.
So it’s safe to say that a trip home is well-deserved after the masterpiece playoffs he wrapped up on Monday night.
