First crop top earnings Bolt d’Oro (Medaglia d’Oro) keep striding forward. Above TDN board, the male has half a dozen chances on Friday to extend his lead against the chasers good magic (make for curly) and justification (Cat dad). Named after a Spanish golfing legend, 2-year-old foal Olazabal ramped up the pressure with a tee-to-green victory in his fifth race at Turfway Park.
Looking to move up in the rankings, justification was baffled when his dirty Prove My Love failed to make it past the previous race as a qualifying also. Across the Pacific, however, KEESEP’s $400,000 acquisition of Lap Star earned him a third place finish in race 6 at Nakayama Racecourse in Japan.
That birdie in Florence, Kentucky earned Spendthrift’s males nearly $100,000 more over the weekend than Hill ‘n’ Dale himself. Both were drawn on Saturday with Bolt d’Oro represented at Los Alamitos in Saturday’s race for $475,000 to buy KEESEP, Navy Man; and good magic with the first timers 5-2 and the light line, Delusively in the eighth race at the Golden Gate.
Last Round of Sunday Weekend Brings Coolmore America’s justification a pair of opportunities. The first could happen at Hanshin Racecourse in Japan when a $425,000 KEESEP graduate Dona Sweat shows up in the fourth race. The home-breed Alpha Bella will attempt to climb up and down from the edge of the newly aerated turf at Gulfstream Park. The chubby girl was still looking to break her daughter after three dirt road races, as she started to the Don Alberto Stables on the seventh stage.
Before heading to the clubhouse, the first seed and third seed will compete at Laurel Park in the 5 1/2 extended entitlement claim sprint. That eighth race matched Bolt’s $260,000 OBSMAR Chiringo against the traveling son of the Triple Crown Prove Right winner, who is starting his 10th youngest career. Both ran by Aqueduct’s stake in the end, with the latter defeating the Level II Remsen S. From December 3 to good magictrump card, Dubyuhnell.
Current earnings rankings through the December 9 race:
1st place—Bolt d’Oro, $2,543,416
2nd-good magic$2,448,337
3rd-justification$2,281,355
